SEPT. 5, 2006─ at
Say’oun, Hadhramout The MOM organized a seminar
entitled, “the Present and Future of Oil, Gas, and
Minerals”. A number of oil companies’ agents and
academicians from Yemeni universities participated
in the seminar.
At the opening session,
HE Mr. Khaled Behah praised the importance of
holding this function as a means of exchanging
information and mobilizing community participation
in the MOM’s programs and functions. He further
added that oil returns constitute 80% of the
national economy.
More over, attendees
discussed a number of topics such oil exploration
activities; oil production operations; crude oil
marketing; gas reserves and the official efforts to
Yemenize oil posts to absorb the Yemeni qualified
cadre in oil work. Participants were exposed and
made more familiar to the minerals sector and the
MOM’s concern with environmental issues.
In addition,
fruitful negotiations were opened and carried out by
the attendees reflecting every body’s interest to
enhance relations with all kinds of MOM’s activities
and interest to acquire more information and
knowledge.
